Hi, I'm Jacob Zeidman — a web design student

I am currently enrolled in a Web Design 1 course where I am learning the foundational skills needed to become a full stack web developer. My focus is on building strong fundamentals in HTML, CSS, and responsive design so I can eventually move into more advanced front-end and back-end development.

In this course, I have been learning how to structure websites using semantic HTML. This includes proper use of headings, sections, navigation systems, and accessibility practices that make websites more readable for both users and search engines.

I have also been developing my CSS skills, focusing on layout techniques such as Flexbox, spacing systems, alignment, and responsive design. These skills allow me to create visually appealing websites that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.

One of my strengths is my ability to think through layout structure before coding. I plan my pages carefully so that content flows naturally and users can navigate the website without confusion or clutter.

Beyond basic web design, I am also starting to understand how full stack development works. I am learning how front-end design connects with back-end systems and databases, and how real-world websites are built as complete systems rather than just static pages.

My long-term goal is to become a full stack web developer and work on real client projects or join a development team where I can continue improving my skills in both design and functionality. I am committed to building a strong portfolio through continuous practice and personal projects.

About Me

I am a web design student currently building the foundation for a future career in full stack development. I am learning how to create structured, responsive, and visually professional websites from scratch using HTML and CSS.

My current focus is mastering front-end development skills such as layout design, typography, spacing systems, and responsive behavior across different devices. These are essential skills for creating modern websites that feel clean and professional.

I am also developing an understanding of how real-world websites function behind the scenes, including how data flows between front-end interfaces and back-end systems. This is helping me transition my thinking from “designing pages” to “building applications.”

One of my main projects is called Mind Balance, a website designed around mental wellness and self-reflection. This project helped me learn how to combine meaningful content with thoughtful design decisions to create a better user experience.

Through projects like this, I have improved my ability to organize content, create consistent design systems, and build layouts that are both functional and visually appealing. I also pay close attention to user experience and accessibility.

My goal is to continue growing into a full stack developer by expanding my knowledge into JavaScript, backend technologies, and eventually databases. I want to be able to build complete web applications, not just static websites, and prepare for real industry work.
